About the Experiential Activity Program

The experiential learning activity program allows the teacher and the class to explore local educational offerings outside of the classroom that reinforce core curriculum concepts and add to the excitement of the learning experience. This program is offered on a six-week rotational basis to each grade level and will utilize a school bus to take the students into the field for engaging experiential day trips. The schedule allows each grade level to participate in a field experience at least once per quarter. Examples of grade level field experiences are as follows: Museum of Science and Industry, Tree-Hoppers, Chinsegut Outdoor Environmental Center, Homosassa Springs State Wildlife Park, Hernando County Public Library, Lowry Park Zoo, Hernando Heritage Museum/May Stringer Museum, Glazer Children’s Museum, Live Oak Theater, a Local Dance Studio, and more!
